Last week, children took part in England Rocks 2021: an opportunity to challenge themselves with their knowledge of times table facts.
Anti-Bullying Week is coordinated in England and Wales by the Anti-Bullying Alliance and is taking place this week, the 15th to the 19th November 2021. This year, it has the theme One Kind Word. The week began with Odd Socks Day which is supported by CBBC and CBeebies star Andy Day and his band Andy and the Odd Socks. We encouraged the children to join in and highlight Odd Socks Day on the first day of Anti-Bullying Week by wearing odd socks.
On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, children and staff of St Aldhelm's shared an Act of Remembrance together.
On Tuesday 9th November, children from Falcons took part in the second cross-country race. The Mendip Athletics event, which takes place every month during the cross-country season, was held locally at Collett Park, Shepton Mallet.
Families of St Aldhelm's showed tremendous support for the Salvation Army in Shepton Mallet again this year. Despite not being able to go ahead with our Harvest Service in church, it was wonderful that families were still able to donate items that had been requested by the charity. It just goes to show that even though many of our families have had a challenging year themselves due to Covid, we can dig deep to continue to support others in our community.
Well done to all classes for completing the One Run Global challenge on Friday 15th October.

Life without bubbles! It has been great to see everyone back at school this term. Even more so than usual, because at last we can interact with each other across the school, across our wonderful school site.
British Science Week 2021
The whole-school explored the wordless picture book 'Flotsam' by David Weisner.
St Aldhelm's collaborated with the other local schools to create the 'Shepton Mallet and surrounding villages World Book Day Windows'.
